I disagree with anonymous, deep throating is no more degrading than any other non standard sexual act.
I also disagree about men not liking it. I doubt she's taken a survey. It's kind of hot, but it's not a big deal.

 Don't laugh, but get some Chloraseptic spray. The numbing attribute of the stuff will help resist the gagging reflex. Use it the first few times to get used to it, then try it straight up. It really works!
The other thing that works pretty well is ice water, or water that's *really* cold. Though, your boyfriend might take issue to deep throating an ice cube. heh.
I've never tried the throat numbing stuff, but there's something else to keep in mind:
You don't have to deep throat him to blow his mind. Most of the nerve endings are along the underside of the shaft just under the head. It's a guy "G-Spot" thing. Learn how to rim him and make the experience more than just open-mouth, insert, thrust, rinse, repeat. The tongue isn't just for cunnilingus! Use it to "milk" the underside and around the rim and bathe the head. I won't say anymore because it would get too graphic, but "deep throat" is overrated!
