A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hello all! I need YOUR help and adivce desperately...Okay, so a little over two weeks ago, I noticed a small bump on my cervix and ignored it. The next day, I had sex with my boyfriend and about two days later, noticed the bump was gone. At that same time, I had a lot of pain in my right ovary. When I called my doctor, she said it was common after having my period (which had passed a week earlier). Then, yesterday, my boyfriend and I were fooling around, and my vagina began bleeding alot. I'm petrified...what do I do now? I've tried googling it online and came up with some scarey answers. It says I could be pregnant, have cancer, have an infection...I'm terrified. Could I really be pregnant? But how? I'm on the pill and we ALWAYS use a condom. What if it's cancer? How do I tell my mom that I need to see the doctor? I told her I'm spotting and she thinkgs it's no big deal. Ahhh, please help :(

(I'm 20 by the way, if that is any help)

TheDarkDoc agony auntHi there !!! As a Doctor , i would advice you to go to your Gynecologist !! No worries its unlikely to be a cancer and impossible to be pregnancy because 1st of all pregnancy doesn't cause this bleeding unless if it was associated with pain either before or after the bleeding and at a gestational age more than few weeks !!!

The 2nd thing , you have reported that you just had your period a week ago !!

But no harm of visiting your Doctor because there is alot of other causes of post-coital bleeding !!

I can't really give you a proper diagnosis because in order to do that we need to have full medical history, general and vaginal examination

!! AGAINA there is nothing to worry about !!! Wish i've helped you, and please after you go to your DOCTOR , tell me what happened with you !!!

I've been told that if you have a lump and it moves or goes away it isn't cancer. The bleeding after intercourse is called post coital bleeding. The gyno explained it to me like this: you have lots of blood vessels on your cervix and when these vessels get irritated they bleed. I would definately go see your doc. Oh and my doc also told me not to believe everything I read on the net. Good luck!

person12345 agony auntOn a TV show they made a joke about how someone was googling for symptoms and all you have to do is type them in and wait for cancer to show up on the screen. You're very young, the chances of you having cancer are incredibly small. The pain in your ovary was probably a small ovarian cyst, very common, harmless but painful. How did you feel a bump on your cervix? Cervixes are bumpy... And people spot all the time on the pill. Relax! Breathe! If you're SUPER nervous just go see a gyno. If you're scared to tell your mom go to planned parenthood or a feminist clinic and they can check it out without telling your mom and for very little or no money.

There is a slight chance that it could be your pregnant but I highly doubt it. It sounds more likely that it could be a cervical problem or it could be absolutely nothing. So RELAX. This happened to me once before. I started bleeding after sex. Went to the gyno and it turned out to be nothing. I ended up devolping a yeast infection took one pill and it was all gone. Go to your gyno and get it checked out. I guarantee you whatever it is it can be treated quickly if anything even needs to be treated. But DON'T IGNORE IT. Go!!
