I mean now im wondering if I should just go to a proper GUM clinic just for my peace of mind and was wondering if its anything to be ashamed of? I know it shouldn't be but i have no one else to ask and i know i should at least be responsible for what i did and look after my health

Well if you've been to your doctor then why should you be ashamed of going to another doctor?
The GUM clinics are nothing to be worried about. It's just like any other doctors surgery.
If your doc says it's fine then it's probably fine but if you want a second opinion then go for it.
