Could my flatmate be pregnant?

Question - (7 October 2007) 3 Answers - (Newest, 13 December 2007)
A female United Kingdom age 41-50, anonymous writes:

My flatmate, work collegue and close friend has been acting really differently lately - hysterical laughs turn quickly into floods (quite literally) of tears.

She is really stressed out and keeps skipping meals and then stuffing herself with food and then being sick. I know she has had sex with her two and a half year partner recently, but protected.

Do you think she could be pregnant?

Well, I took flower girl's advise and sat her down for a chat. She took some persuasion to talk about it, but I eventually found out that she and her partner had been trying for a baby for several months and still nothing. She was really scared about the fact that she could be infertile. I persuaded her to come with me to see someone about it... but two days before we were going to go she came up to me, broke down in tears and told me she was finally pregnant! So good news all around! Thanks everyone!

flower girl agony auntLike basschick said she could be pregnant, although if she was using protection it's unlikely, but you say she is stressed out and is skipping meals so it could be that she is depressed, try sitting her down and having a chat find out how she feeling at the moment and if there is anything that is worrying her.

Take care.xx.

Basschick agony auntHer symptoms could be anything from stress, to an eating disorder, but it's possible. Ask her if she's missed a period lately and if so, offer to buy her a home pregnancy test, then you'll both know. Good luck.
