A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

i know how crazy this sounds, but im gunna be 19 in february. I got pregnant around this tyme last year but had an abortion because i wasnt sure if having a baby was what i wanted and i was also starting college in the fall. Now i want a baby more then anything. i am taking bc but i purposely miss pills at times. Last saturday (this was accidental) i forgot my pill and again on sunday. This whole week i have been bleeding but its not heavy like a period, more like light red/brownish spotting. I Was still bleeding when i had unprotected sex this morning but he pulled out and i usually take my pills at 11pm but didnt take it last nite. Could missing that pill possibly cause me to get pregnant?

no im not supposed to get my period until this week.and well as far as the guy, hes a lot older then me and already has a 4 yr old daughter. Hes a great dad so that wouldnt be a problem. I know missin pills arent the way to go about it but i really want a child. I waited til i was almost 4 months before i even had the abortion. Jus showz i didnt even want it. I regret it soo much to this day

You're way too young to even be even thinking about having a baby. Having another baby isn't going to fill the hole for the one you aborted. I had an abortion in April, and I decided that I will never have a child, because I cannot care for it and I am much older than you. I read stories on this site all the time on I am pregnant because my boyfriend wanted a baby, do you really think he is going to hang around for the long haul? I seriously doubt it, learn from your mistake and wait until you're old enough and have someone who can support your family financially.

LilPixie agony auntOf course it could! Even when you take it at the same time everyday you could still get pregnant, even though chances are a lot slimmer.

I'm not sure about the bleeding as you didn't say if you are meant to have your period now or not, but if you're not, maybe your body is getting confused because you're taking the pill one day and the next you're not.

I'd say go to your doctors and tell them about the missed pills and that you're wanting to get pregnant. Also, i'll assume that this guy is your boyfriend? Either way, it's important that you talk to him about this too, as it will change his life as well if you were to fall pregnant!

Purposely missing your pills is not the way to go, you could upset people who think they can trust, especially your bf/ whoever you might be sleeping with.
