writes:please help! today is september 1, 2010... my last period was on july 5, 2010 and my next expect period was suppose to come on august 2 but didnt.. me and my fiance are ttc. i spotted a small amount of brownish/pinkish discharge on august 8 through 12 then stopped and spotted again on august 22 through 24 but still no period. all the hpt were neg.. i havent taken one in 2 weeks so i prolly should, but i went to the doc on august 12 and he gave me some pills to jump start my period but they didnt work! so i have another appt on sept. 10th with a diff doctor so maybe he will give me better news as to whats going on with me... what do you all think? any answers will be appreciated greatly

ashley601 is verified as being by the original poster of the question i have all the symptoms of being prego except a pos hpt so im confused!! i have a regular 28 day cycle, and was suppose to have a period on august 2nd then again on august 30th, and september 27th so i have completely missed 2 periods,and they are always like clock work!!! my breasts are sensitive to touch and my aerolas are super dark, always nauseated, super tired, sleepy, and moody so its jus weird i keep getting neg tests!!!

reader, anonymous, writes (2 September 2010): The only real way to know for sure is to get a pregnancy test done with a doctor, but if everything is coming up negative it could be any number of factors interfering with your hormones and natural cycle, anything from diet and stress, or any medication you might be taking. You are doing the right thing going to the doctor, but should definately find one who will take this seriously, and possibly give you some other sort of tests to make sure you are all right, such as a blood test. I hope it all goes well

 Take another hpt and if its neg, ask the doctor for a blood test. Above all else, be calm. I had a three month stretch with no period... and I was not pregnant. Sometimes, it just happens. It sounds like you are being very attentive to your body, so you would know if anything was wrong. You might be pregnant, but if you tested two weeks ago and still had a negative, its unlikely. Maybe stress is effecting your cycle, it happens. TTC is hard! Good luck to you :-)

reader, anonymous, writes (1 September 2010): do another test. your next period is almost due. that means you're period isnt late - you've missed it. Most home pregnancy tests only work when your period is missed, because it can only monitor the level of HCG (pregnancy hormone) in your urine if it is over 100. And it usually takes about 4 weeks for it to reach 100. So do another test, see what happens, and otherwise just speak to your doctor.
