Does anyone know if there is a way to track a cell phone? (ex. finding out where a person is located at any certain time)I also am hoping someone can answer this...

Can my cell phone service provider give me a list of the text messages from her phone? Is this legal? The plan is under my name, but I wanted to ask here first before calling and feeling like an idiot.

Laura1318 agony auntYes ! It can be done just like the police put a tracer chip

and knows where you are any time of the day.

You can even put a spying chip in his phone to listen to his conversation.

You can contact the company for a list of the text messages

if it is under your name . You may have to pay a fee .

It will depend on the policy of that company.

WHY? If you feel you need to track her every move...then this woman is not for you. TRUST is very important in any relationship and if you can't trust this woman...then you need to move on NOW!

I really don't like your tone....I believe you need to move on, because you seem to be going crazy over this woman.

A male reader, q1605 United States +, writes (28 March 2008):

q1605 agony aunt I understand and I read this in popular mechanic that there are Track phones that are GPS enabled. That is its location can be located at anytime by logging on a site on the internet. The track phones are the ones that are pay as you go not your name provider. What can be done is to buy one charge it and put it in the ride you want tracked. Or they can do it to you. It will keep a record of where it was at at any time during the day. It will even go into sleep mode if it stays stationary for a certain length of time and start sending a signal when it detects movement. But woe unto you if she catches you like this. The amount of underhandedness behind this is about a hair behind hiring a PI. The only thing worse than getting busted ( by her it's not illegal) you might check into it but they would have to prove intent and you say you just left it in her ride. But to get caught by her and she is cheating, is to be caught by her and she is not cheating. If the her phone is yours you may can check on line but I am not sure of content. If you go on anywho. com and call enter trhe number it won't tell you a cell number BUT this is a popular misconception about the second line down will say something like the number is in our database ****** but wken you click on it it sends you to a site called intellius and they will give you the name and sometimes the city but with a name you are om your way.

If it is a bluetooth enabled phone, I discovered that the GPS garmin nuvi could read the texts, provided the two are linked up initially. Don't know about the rest of it.

A reader, anonymous, writes (28 March 2008):

It is possible to track someone with the newer cell phones, but this is limited to law enforcement use. Now the cell phone company that you have an account with might offer some assistance, but they might charge you for it, and it probably would cost you allot of money.

If your doing it to keep track of a spouse; boyfriend for spying purposes, I doubt they will help you: they don't want to open themselves to privacy lawsuits.

If the plan is in your name then I guess it is legally your information and you are within your rights to request it if you want to, Im not sure that they keep a log of text messages but wont hurt to ask.
