Can someone please tell me what's going on in his head??

My boyfriend broke up with me about a month ago and I have been devastated. I really love him, but I read that if I ever wanted him back I should cut all contact, so I did. I heard through the grapevine that he had gotten a new mobile phone number too, so in a way that made things easier. Recently though he text me from his new number saying that he wanted me to have it. He has been telling me he loves me, misses me, wants to marry me etc, and that he has no interest in other girls. On nights out he has come up to me several times, and he is making an effort with my friends, something he has never really done before. He also kissed me recently on another night out. I desperately miss him, but I am very aware of not appearing desperate. I just do not know what's going on in his head. Any advice?? Please don't tell me to talk to him about it, because I am not willing to start putting pressure on things. Thanks!!xx
