He had the greater responsibility here, he was the adult.

reader, anonymous, writes (13 March 2007): It sounds to me this is sour grapes.You was happy to carry on with this man for a further 2 years after the sex in question.If it bothers you that much why didnt you report him straight after it happened and now wait a further 2 years before reporting it?It sounds to me like he chose his wife over you and now you want to get back at him if so than thats callous regardless of the underage sex as lets face it he didnt exactally force himself on you like it was rape.

You have to ask yourself this though - are you willing to go through a tremendous amount of stress yourself and have to go to court over it?
If you had been seeing him from the age 15 - 17 and want to get back at him for leaving you for his wife, this will be exploited in court and you may be made to look like a trouble maker and unlikely to have him prosecuted. A two year relationship with someone where some of it you were under 16 is a very, very different situation to one where a minor was manipulated and forced in to having sex.
You need to seek legal advice but know that once you make an accusation towards this man there will be no going back.

Having sex with a minor is considered statutory rape.
If you don't want to talk to your parents first about it, go to your school counselor (one that you trust) who will help you make a report to the police.
