A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Well, there is this male teacher whom I've had a crush on since I was a sophomore but this year my junior year, I have gotten to know him better and about his personal life experiences and I also have had a few bumps on the road in my life.

He is always there to help me and talks to me a lot about life and he is always answering my life questions. But now I don't have a crush I think! I think that now I admire him more and like him like an older brother. I mean I know his wife and his baby. I wonder, would it be wrong if I went over his house and hang out and just chill with his family and other teens? Can I actually consider him friend? Should I care what kids in my school say? I mean I have a lot of integrity and so does my teacher. What to do? Help!!!!!!!!!!!

i consider my teacher a friend, we were just friends in school, but then i graduated, GR.8! after that, we hung out, he wasnt my teacher in highschool. he has no kids, or a wife. we hangout, we shop, go to parades, and we can be completely normal around each other, we can fb all night & laugh.

& yes, its true, it does look awkwaard to be seen with an older teacher, and it for me, i feel embarassed to be seen with him, but i cant help but hang with him :) hes.. 29 & im 15!

i dont think anything is wrong, as long as you are not sleeping with the guy!

hmm its a tough question to answer cause their is always that teacher student relationship that needs to be respected..however i had a techer in middle school i was like 16 and he was only like 22 he was pretty cool he was definetly a friend first and a teacher second but sometimes being a friend to your teacher can make that student teacher "bond"stronger.given that was just my personal experiance take from it what you will

I think it's best to have a teacher-student friendship inside the school. Anything outside of that would look strange you being a female and him male. And the fact that he's married with kids. It's just not appropriate. Maybe after you graduated you could meet up for lunch once in a while, I knew students and teachers that did that. I wouldn't do anything unless his wife knew though. I had a friend that was head over heals for one of her high school teachers and she actually slept with him after she had graduated to later find out he was also sleeping with a track coach and other students. Thats a really dangerous type of relationship to have. Don't get him in trouble, teachers are supposed to maintain a certain type of relationship with students.

yeahsureyoubetcha agony auntYes you can be friends with your teacher.

But honestly not while you are in class at his school at all.

If you hang out, you run the risk of him being fired over the association.

People are stupid! It will be assumed that something is going on even if it isn't.

He could loose his job over it.
