Question - (14 December 2008) 3 Answers - (Newest, 19 December 2008)
A female United States age 51-59, anonymous writes:

Scenerio; Girl goes out partying with a group of friends, lots of alcohol involved.. later, while partying, she has to pee, and wanders off. As she is finishing up, one of the males is suddenly there.. she tries to walk past him, and he starts to hug and kiss her "We're gonna make love baby" he says. She blacks out.. next thing, she is awakened by him having sex with her, on her back in a cornfield... "what are you doing?" she asks, trying to push him off. "We're making love baby, shhh.. it's ok.. "she starts to scream, and gets away from him.. seeking solace in the back of a truck bed, all the while babbling incoherently, and screaming.. her other friends come running to see what the fuss is, and she is inconsolable. They ask him what is going on. He says he don't know, she just freaked.. that being said, they decide to give her a few double shot of whisky, saying to another person there "She won't remember this in the morning". They take her and drop her off at her cousins to sleep it off..... could this just be considered a drunken night out with friends? or a situation that needs handled in a different light? Would this be classified as an assault? or, a slut?

I don't think the friends helped that guy with this from the beginning. By what you are saying I think the friends didn't even know what happened because the guy didn't tell them.. nor did the girl. They may be just thinking she was behaving weird drunk and mentioned she won't remember anything in the morning. It is possible that they knew what happened and just didn't take it seriously. But we can't say they betrayed without fully knowing what happened. No, calling that girl a slut is extremely stupid. Even if the girl consented to it, what right others have to call her names for it? It is her life. But people would consider her stupid. Tell her to be very careful next time, not getting drunk with people she doesn't know or people she can't trust fully. You can't predict what will happen when everyone is drunk. Preventing damage is better because even if you manage to bring the culprit to book, the damage is still there.

This could, and Is considered RAPE! The fact that you were drunk and in a blackout, doesn't mean it was consentual! But that is definitley asult. Aided and abedded by his friends! We take so many chances while intoxicated, and alot of times we put ourselves in dangerous situations without thinking! I've been in too many to count. It's not your fault!

It's up to you how you handle this. I don't know how the legal system would handle it but, In the 21st Century, I would hope that they would take it seriously!

Good Luck and be careful...and by the way...yes, you were betrayed by your drunken friends!!!!!
