My bf and I were dating for four months the last few weeks of our relationship we have been fighting. We saw eachother about three or four times a week we talked everyday on the phone texting mostly. One night he decided to go out by himself cuz that's what he used to do and he said it felt good. The next day he wouldn't talk much n said he needs time to figure out how he wants our relationship to be. Two days after I came over to talk to him and he said he still needs time to think. I asked him if he thought about breaking up and he said sry the thought crossed my mind and I asked if he was still thinking about it and he said no. Well the next night he texted me goodnight I love you and he hasn't texted me goodnight the last three days before that so I thought things were ok then the next night he texted me goodnight sweetheart in which he hasn't called me that since we first started dating. The next morn (friday)he texted me and said hey I don't know if this is gonna work out right now....so I called him and he said that he just has a lot of things on his plate to take care of right now like paying unpaid bills and focusing on work cuz he has been on the verge of getting fired....so he said that he thinks we need to take A break from eachother and I asked if we would get back together and he said that's the plan.....I didn't hear from him all weekend so I came over to his house to talk to him and he told me he's just not in a place right now where he wants to b in a relationship he needs to figure stuff out and take care of things So I asked what he's been telling people about us and he said some people I say we broke up like people who aren't that close to him but others he said he told them that we broke up for a lil while. I asked him if he deleted our pics or the picture on his background of us he said no I wasn't planning on it. He told me he just wants to b Alone for a lil while. I asked if there was any other girl or if he was gonna hang out w any he said no and to not worry and to use this break to focus on myself and my son.I asked if we were gonna get back together and he said I am planning on it. I told him that I would miss him and he said that he would miss me too. It's been a week in a half of no contact whatsoever do u think he just needs his space right now? Does it sound like he does wanna get back together eventually? How long should I wait to text or call him?

So_Very_Confused agony auntDating for four months…and already fighting regularly….

He changed after he went out by himself…sounds like he saw someone who caught his fancy…

I personally don’t believe in “taking a break” I get it when you have a FIGHT and have to work that out (we had one of those it was ugly it lasted a week and we both were miserable and have promised to never do that again) but when a couple decides to “take a break” usually it’s initiated by ONE of the partners and the other is blindsided (like you are)

I think it’s going to be over for you two…. I would assume he’s gone and not contact him.
