 I am not sure what the point of this question is. But who cares what girls think? The fact is if we don't have the courage to ask them out, they can't agree to go out with us.
We have to ask them out. If we don't, nothing is going to happen. Does that address the confidence part of the question?
You either take the risk, or you say nothing, and they say nothing. And then no-one goes out with anyone. We all just live miserably ever after.
But no. I don't think girls are confused about this at all. They just expect the guy to automatically make the first move for whatever reason.
