reader, anonymous, writes (25 March 2010): i have a friend who proposed to his girlfriend in paris on top of the eiffel tower at night, it was all lit up and beautiful. you could take her there for the weekend and do it, trust me its the most romantic city ever and maybe she would love that... just an idea though! good luck x

I totally agree nothing cliche and public, I think that would be a bit too tacky.
I was thinking in the gardens of a Muncaster Castle as its near to where we both live, so your suggestion is not too far off the mark.

 My mate was proposed to in the gardens of a stately home by a lake and she was thrilled, that's just one idea.
Just don't do anything cliche, like the whole "ring in the champagne" thing. And I wouldn't do it in front of loads of people as some find this really uncomfortable.

 you could take her to a quiet spot near a waterfall with a bunch of flowers. take her out for dinner in a top restaurant take her to paris for a weekend go to geneva go bareback horse riding. theirs so many things you could do! but it depends on what she likes and loves and were you will feel the most happiest doing the proposal.. i think you have your own ideas already of what will make you happy if they both will make you happy then do it how you want to! otherwise their is no limit to as how you propose their are a million and one things to consider on how to do it!
