A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

my 17 year old brothers a nice guy but he has no idea what to do with his anger when it comes to girls! hes not violent, and he doesnt yell, but he just shuts down and says that theyre lying when they say they want to work it out and he leaves! it hurts the girls he dates. I told him what he was doing once and he acted like I was attacking him even after I told him I only wanted to help! Ive dated guys who did that and iknow how it hurtsrelationships and girls! I want to help him.what can I do?

There is nothing you can do? he's not done growing up. no matter what anyone says! he knows it all. maybe he will get a piece of his own pie one day when a girl turns around and does the same to him and he just so happens to really like her then maybe he will know how it feels?

C. Grant agony auntYou're a good sister for wanting to offer him guidance. Some day he'll probably realize that. But for the time being he's not open to advice, which very much goes with the territory at that age.
