A female age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I am getting a step brother and one of my friends had this problem, and I'm afraid it will happen to me: is it possible or likely that I will fall for my new step brother? It's been eating at me, and I just want to clear it up. I saw 'Life with Derek' and the two siblings seem to hate each other, but still look out for one another (sometimes).

That's the kinda relationship I want with an elder brother.

A reader, anonymous, writes (25 February 2009):

It's possible you can fall for him, just as much as it's possible you won't and just as possible if you two become really great siblings/friends.

Observation: anything is possible. Strangers can't possibly tell you otherwise until you have met and lived with your new step brother. What you want can be achievable, but that really depends on his personality and connection with you.
