reader, anonymous, writes (3 February 2010): I'm 19, and I'm also 5ft 5 and 120lbs weirdly enough. Some say I look tall, others say I'm short. It just depends on the person. I don't fit into "petite" clothing , but I also don't need tall clothing either. So I guess we're both average.Way to be.

 I think 5'5'' would be about the perfect height for a woman. Neither too tall or too small. I am 5 foot 2 and very tiny boned and people say that I am petite. My best friend is 5'9'' and she is considered quite tall.

 Depends on the guy you are with. You would be tall to me but petite to a mate of mine.

reader, anonymous, writes (3 February 2010): 5ft 5 is not too tall at all. And i'm sure for your height you are the average weight. You could always check online for the average weight you should be at that height. Or ask your doctor for advise.
