A female Ireland age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I'm not sure how to put this, but it's weighing on my mind a lot.

I had sex with my boyfriend last night, and when we were finished, I looked down, and I was bleeding from my vagina. Not even just a little, a LOT. And it didn't look like menstrual blood either, it was bright red, with some clots in it, and there was enough to drip down my legs.

I have no idea why this happened now, the last few times I've had sex hurt a little, and there was a tiny bit of blood, but that didnt bother me too much, but this time there was no pain at all, but a LOT of blood. And, quite frankly, I'm terrified.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Also, unrelated issue, the condom broke, but I'm on the pill, that should be ok pregnancy-wise, right?

littlesuziepie agony auntDid you just get over your menstrual cycle? I have no idea why this happens and if it even relates to you but the first advise I can give is to see a doctor ASAP because bleeding is not good.

Anyways. When I get over having my period and I have sex with in the first few days of it being over I will bleed again. Usually seems like my period is back but goes away with in a few hours. I have asked female friends and they have had this happen as well.

You should ask your doctor still because everyone is different and it could be a bad thing or it could be nothing to worry about at all.

If the condom broke, the thrusting and stroking may have been a bit too vigorous. He may have indeed damaged you inside, though perhaps not severely. Or, perhaps so. If it clears up in a day and nothing seems wrong I'd schedule a routine OB/Gyn exam in the next month or so and ask about it. If it doesn't clear up quickly, I'd see a physician sooner than that!

You are unlikely to be pregnant.
