As i only go back to Ireland and mix with "the circle" once a year it is always really awkward for me. I was standing in the corner of the room and this guy came to talk to me he was really sweet and nice (although i think he may have had a bit to drink)anyway we got talking and it turned out he had just finnished law school and is 26. He got my number from somewhere and text me the next day after so we ended up meeting up and going on a horse ride. I really liked him and he was still really sweet so we went back to his house, started drinking, and ended up having sex (it was my first time. Now i'm back in England and whenever i text him he just sends one world replyies like he is trying to politely end the converstaion. Is it that I'm now in England, that he just wanted sex, or something else?

 I agree with Guillaume. It sounds like he wanted a one night stand.
Unfortunately, this was your first time having sex and I would've hoped you would've found a stronger love, but I don't see this guy coming around. You guys are in different countries (from the sounds of it) and he doesn't seem to want a long term relationship.
Either way, I see this one as a dead end for you. This may be a tough lesson in the ways of "guys" thinking with their you know whats... but it sounds like he just wanted a quicky and nothing long-term.
