pgissyd agony auntHi there, this is perfectly normal, even adults do it from time to time.

to avoid doing it, make sure youdrink nothing for at least two hours before you go sleep, make sure you go to the toilet before you go to bed and generally try to make sure you get plenty of regular sleep, as lack of sleep can make you sleep deeper and prevent you from waking if you need the toilet.

As far as your mattress is concerned, some warm soapy water and a good scrub should cure it, make sure you let it dry out properly before you sleep on it though, and dont use too much water or you will soak the bed and it will start to rot.

If the accidents happen a lot to you then I would question if you have a physical problem, If you wet the bed regularly meaning once a month or more often (im going by age here, it would be far less for an adult) then I would consider your diet first, do you have a bedtime drink? if so cut it out, have a drink with you evening meal ad no more drinks after taht, but if tat doesnt work then it may be time to chat with the doctor, you may have some degree of incontinance, its perfectly ok and there are things you can do about it, so dont be afraid to see the doc, but you should perhaps discuss it with your mum if it does become an issue.

Take care hun.
