I split up with an ex 3 years ago, since then we have been seeing other people. Although we aren't together he still texts me occasionally. I am with another guy, but still have strong feelings for my ex, but I'm not sure if he feels the same and I don't want to make a big mistake.

A female reader, sunrise United Kingdom +, writes (6 July 2007):

sunrise agony auntHi, Ask him, that is the only way you will know how he feels.

You obviously dont think to much of your b/f and is it fair to stay with him only because you dont want to make a mistake if your ex doesn't want you? How would you feel if your b/f was thinking the same way you're thinking, about his ex?

Have some respect for your boyfriend and sort out what you want, you cant use people til something better comes along.

Better still remember why he is your EX, 3 years is a long time to be apart, you cant chase the past, but if it's him you want, talk to him.
