A reader, anonymous, writes (5 March 2011):

Darling, you're 13 and should not know what kind of briefs he wears. No it does not matter.

Please ignore the media and silly things you see out there on tv and online. He is a boy and you should not be putting pressure on each other to do anything other than hold hands and have a nice time being young and sweet okay! :)

A male reader, Mark_25_ United Kingdom +, writes (4 March 2011):

Mark_25_ agony auntYou really have left yourself open to a lot of criticism here. First, agreeing with everyone else, 13 is way too young if your being intimate. I'm hoping it's just a case of seeing them in his drawer or something. Secondly, if anything your the immature one for actually questioning what he's wearing, it's normal. And thirdly, why are you so hung up on being mature?! You should just enjoy being the age you are, because believe me, it goes quickly!

A female reader, TasteofIndia United States +, writes (4 March 2011):

TasteofIndia agony auntI worked at a men's underwear store for many years - just like women have choices: boyshorts, thong, bikini, French cut - guys have choices too: boxers, briefs, or boxerbriefs (they aren't very good at original names)... also, jocks and trunks. It is perfectly normal to pick any of them.

I'm not even going to ask why you're looking at his underwear. But, I will say that his underwear isn't an immature choice in the least.

A female reader, shadae.middleton Australia +, writes (4 March 2011):

OKay, hun, you are a 13 year old kid. same with him. It is normal for him to wear these. I understand you are wanting to grow up and boyfriends seem so exciting, but take it slow if you are being intimate. seriously, you have all the time in the world. Briefs are his choice, and they shouldn't matter... he's too young to be told what is underwear he should be wearing.

A female reader, chigirl Norway +, writes (4 March 2011):

chigirl agony auntIm with eyeswideopen on this one, how do you even know what underwear your boyfriend uses? You are both 13, at the age where it's not appropriate to take baths together any longer, and still inappropriate to be intimate together. What underwear he wears is none of your business either way. So why should it matter? If you dislike it, even though you shouldn't be looking in the first place, you can buy him some new underwear and see if he will use it. But if he doesn't.. well it's all up to him to decide what he wants to wear.

There are SO many different types of underwear on the market. I mean look at womens undies, briefs, pants, g-strings, hipsters, boy shorts, high leg, brazilian, thongs.

Not all men wear boxers.
