Why is the breaking up bothering me now?

A female United Kingdom age 30-35, *uperbunny writes:

I went to a counsellor to try to sort out some of the problems I've had in my life and I didn't find it helpful at all. I thought I did then I realised that it didn't change anything or change how I felt about myself. I feel like everything is bubbling up again as I managed to actually allow myself to get close to a guy and then he split up with me for understandably no reason and now everything seems to bug me again even though this lad obviously didn't make it go away or fix it - so why is it bugging me now?

This is the original post I posted about two years ago. Nothing much has changed.

aunt honesty agony auntI guess after this lad dumped you it made old feelings return and that is why you are now slowely creeping backwards instead of forwards, ok so you feel councelling didnt work for you at all? Hmm well if this didnt work for you i really dont know what else i can advise you here, did you go to your doctor about depression? As it seems to me that you are depressed that you are in need of attention, love and affection and nobody is giving it to you in your life. Sit down with your mum and tell her how low you are feeling spill your heart out to her, you might not feel that you are close to her, but you are her daughter and i bet she will know exactly what to say to make you feel better.
