Why do guys always make comments about your friends when you're dating them?

A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

A couple of months ago I was seeing this guy who used to always comment on my girl friends. He never called anyone ugly, but he would always say something if my friend was gorgeous. He would say: Wow, she's so hot. After he did this a bunch of times, I asked him: If you think she's so hot, why don't you talk to her? And he said: No. I don't want to. This other time he ran into one of my friends and he said she was trying to make out with him. I didn't reply and he said he was just joking and he didn't mean it. After that, he stopped making the comments.

Why do guys do that? Sometimes I would feel a little rejected when he would say things like that.

Because they're disrspectful of your feelings. Some girls don't care but a lot do and men shoul recognize when those comments are called for a when they are not. My husband never has and never would do this to me. He doesn't look at my friends in that way. I got really mad at one of them once for takinig of her shirt and bra in front of him and me, but he turned the second he saw her begin lifting her shirt. He looked horrified and scared.. it was adorable. Like a puppy who just saw his owners having sex.

Anyway.. my point is that not every guy is like that. You just have to either see to it that he stops completely and learn to overlook it, or find someone who won't.
