Hi

I would like to ask you people that which gender of a baby you generally prefer either a boy baby or girl baby. Because my wife is a pregnant and she wants a boy baby. For me anyone is fine. I am worried that she may upset if we get a girl baby. How to tell her that anyone will be ok. And can you tell me which gender do most people prefer and why? What are the advantages or disadvantages of each genger. Thank you very much in advance for your advice.

Honeypie agony auntTo me the gender was unimportant, I just wanted healthy happy babies.

I have 3 daughters and I couldn't be happier. If one or all 3 had been boys, that would have been just fine too.

CindyCares agony aunt The moment your wife takes her newborn in her arms she won't care at all about genders and won't even remember her preference.

I wanted a baby girl, for stupid reasons . If you have a girl, you can dress her in pink, and braid her hair, and get to play with her Barbie dolls ... I got a boy, and I was very happy nonetheless. And even more in time. I had tons of kids ( boys and girls ) coming over for play dates, and I noticed that girls cry, whine and complain more than boys.

Also , at elementary school age, I found them to be more manipulative than boys , more inclined to scheme , contrive or flirt to get their way . But this must be due to upbringing, it can't be genetic .

Anyway, boy or girl , it really does not matter, whatever gender comes , it will be a big happiness !

Firstly congratulations!

Most of the time you don't have to convince a woman who's just had baby to love it. Really most women turn into fiercely protective deeply adoring mothers the instant they see their baby's face for the first time, no matter what sex they would have preferred while pregnant.

Personally I would prefer a boy, boys tend to go off and do their own thing as toddlers while girls tend to always seek attention from their parents (very broad generalization) The drawback is you have to watch boys closely as they can wander off easily while girls will always want you to play games with them.

While you might think chasing after a boy requires more energy, it can be pretty draining to have a little girl constantly tugging on your shirt to do things with her.

At the end of the day though, both genders are a hell of a lot of work. Until they reach the golden ages between 3 and 13. Babies and teenagers are exhausting mentally and physically but by all accounts it's definitely well worth it.
