Question - (3 October 2008) 2 Answers - (Newest, 3 October 2008)
A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I made a bit of a fool of myself with this guy I thought liked me, I asked him out which took me ages to build the courage to do, and he said yes, then he didn't turn up,

I see him nearly every day and we just talk like nothing has happened, and I suppose that is for the best but I just want to know why he didn't turn up, but because I am shy and basically I am just grateful a guy like him talks to me, I don't want to ask.

Plus it has been a while since it happened, and I wouldn't have minded because guys always do this to me, but I really like him even though he stood me up.

I just want to know what I am doing wrong. Has anyone got any advice? Should I just forget him?

michelleAKAmandi agony auntYou dismissed what he did and you should have asked why he didn't show. Especially if he didn't offer an apology for not showing. Demand respect from any and everyone, if you don't, you will get stepped on. You don't want that, it will end up making you very unhappy.

You should probably just forget about it, because you didn't speak up and ask, "Hey what happened? Why didn't you show?".

Are you the one that's always asking the guys out?

He stood you up sweetie and he should have offered a reason as to why he did so and possibly an apology. Don't let people do that to you. You deserve more than that and ONLY you can make people respect you.

Good luck,

Michelle
