My boyfriend of a year has his up days and his down days. My question is though, during his rough days and we argue should it be okay for him to talk and complain about me behind my back. He did it once in front of his sister and he does it on facebook chat or txting. It makes me feel bad cause all his friend must hate me if he is talking shit all the time. How should i approach this. ps. he told me he doesnt do it but i have seen the proof that he does.

A male reader, CaringGuy United Kingdom +, writes (25 January 2011):

Everyone bitches behind their partner's back. You can't expect him not to. People have to talk and vent. That's the only way things get worked out. Unless the things he is saying are that bad, I think it would be too controlling to expect him to not say anything. you simply won't stop him from venting when he's upset. It's actually better he does. You don't want him to be silent, then one day walk out and tell you it's over because you're too controlling.

People need to talk. So unless what he's saying is that bad, don't try to control it or stop it.
