Okay I had unprotected sex about two and a half weeks ago. I've took pregnancy tests and they all came out negative. I went to the clinic to get started on birth control which I chose to take the pills. My period came about a week ago. They also gave me a pregnancy test which came out negative. The nurse told me to take a pill when I got home which would be sunday's pill. Then she told me to take monday's pill to get on track. I know that you supposed to start your pills the sunday after your period. My period came too early this month and she told me if I take the pill it can cause some changes in my cycle. I wanted to wait on my period for next month and start my pills that following sunday to make sure everything okay. When do you think I should start?

I would wail til next month to start the pack. Birth Control pills will mess with your cycle, your hormones, and just about everything in between. Take the first Sunday after your period, even if your still flowing.

You should ask the doctor or nurse at the clinic this. Or ask your local pharmacist.

Advice in the UK is to start the pill on the 1st day of your period but CHECK THIS as medications and medical advice is often different in different countries.

And make sure you have protected sex or abstain from it altogether until you can start you pill
