I find shaving makes it quite itchy when the hair grows back. I have too much hair to pluck each hair individually, so I began by visiting a beautician who waxed the whole lot off. It hurt at first but now the regrowth is sparser and doesn't hurt as much. I bought some salon type wax which doesn't require the strips, you just heat it up in a saucepan or microwave, put it on, wait for it to set and pull it off, hair and all. Works for me, and is cheap as I buy it in bulk and do it myself.

Ive been "clean" for over 10years now and i started off by shaving and that was a lesson learned fast!! It grows back in quickly and it gets incredably itchy. I use Nair and to my luck the dollar store here in canada sells it. You could wax, if you could take the pain. The downside to using products like Nair are, works best when theres lots of hair and it takes bout 15 min to leave it on. Theres no itchness afterwards, unlike shaving youre itchy after 48hrs maybe 3 days max.

reader, anonymous, writes (19 April 2007): Maintaining pubic hair can be a time consuming and painful task, so make sure you have the time to do a good job.
Firstly shave them.
Then after a few weeks, you will start to see regrowth.
Go out and buy a quality pair of tweezers and individually pluck each hair.
It sounds painful, but it gives the best results.
You could also have a few problems with ingrown hairs.
Just pluck the new regrowth once a week.
It works for me.
