 Every guy is different.
Some guys have more confidence than others and will be flirty and talkative with you.
Then you have the guys to are just silent and don't do anything to show they like you.
If you like a guy, talk to him, get to know him better. If he feels safe with you he will come out of his shell and make signs by flirting, complimenting is a good one.
The whole thing of smiling and making eye contact really means nothing, i smile and make eye contact with my best friend doesn't mean i fancie her! Everyone smiles and makes eye contact, its a polite thing to do.
Just look at his personality and see if hes flirty or more talkive with you.
