 I don't see any harm in just going up to her and ask her if she fancies catching a movie at the weekend. Whats the worst she can say, no. Well at least you will have tried and know where you stand and can move on.
But you never will know what she will say unless you ask, go for it, i bet she will say yes.

 Why would her friends be suspicious if you spoke to her alone? The best way to ask her would BE online however if you want to ask her face to face then the best way to do that IS alone! Forget what her friends say, as long as she says yes then that's the main thing!
