I think that its fine 2 date a 20 year old when your 15 no one can say anything its none of their business unless they have been in the same situation then they have no clue what you are going through let them do what they want unless he is obviously pressuring her 2 things she isn't ready for.so leave people alone and let them make their own mistakes you never know they may last a lifetime! I wish any 15 year old the best of luck with a 20 year old boyfriend I had one at that age and have been together for 10 years now

Worried and concerned?

Certainly. I'd be a fool not to be.

But unless I can prove that anything other then dating is going my hands would be tied as there is no law in my country to forbid anyone from dating.

All I am saying is not to jump the gun in convicting someone.

I repeat, until he has actually abused the girl physically... he has not broken a law.

prof_orr agony aunt"Going out' can and often does lead to a sexual relationship.

Not all States age of consent laws are the same, but if you post where you live, I will tell you what the legal age is for your location.

Otherwise, if you are 21 or older, only "go out" with girls that are over 18 years old.

Where I come from, a guy that's 20 something fooling around with a girl of 14 or 15 is likely to be shot by her father. We have determined that to be much more effective than bothering law enforcement about such things.

"Pedophile - an adult who is sexually attracted to young children.

Also, pedophiliac.

[Origin: 1950–55; pedo-1 + -phile, or directly Gk paidóphilos - loving children] "

note on its origins.

Further more. he's over the age of 21 and she's 14...

you're right.. clearly theres No sence of sexual thoughts at all in this.

Why is all so clear and innocent, how silly of me.

I'm sure glad Michael Jackson got aquitted for sleeping in the same bed as all those lil'boys.

Tell you what flynn, if you have kids, and ones a girl or boy around 13-14 send them over to stay with this guy and you're telling me you ain't gonna be Even slightly worried or concerened?

A male reader, anonymous, writes (12 October 2008):

Anyone can love someone. Whatever the age. It takes a special kind of person to act on those feelings when there is good reason that Age of Consent laws exist.

As to dating. Both you and her are free to date anyone of any age you please. It is SEXUAL contact that is unlawful in this instance.

Dr. Vendetta, I speak now directly to you.

You sir are a moron. A Paedophile sexually abuses children under the age of consent.

As this person has no claims to have done so, or ay claims of any desire to do so, your limited world-views are offensive and uncalled for. It is people like you who burned people at the stake for Heresy away back when.

A person isnnot a criminal until they have commited a crime. Just because a person seems likely to commit one, doesn't mean they will and until they do, they are as innocent as anyone else.

INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. Your own society is based upon that law. Try not to forget it.

And now I speak to the original poster of the question.

While it may be legal for you to date, caution must be considered here. You are at very different stages of your lives emotionally and this is not an issue that can be swept under the rug.

You need to understand that her emotions are mixed with hormones at a far more unstable level then yours. She cannot think as you can because she has not had the experience to correctly deal with the emotions and desires she feels.

You can. You are in a position of power in that respect and it is ultimately you who are going to have to make the right decision.

So it is for the best that you let her live her life without your influence. You know how to control, and deal with loss of love.

It's a lesson she will have to learn some day. She won't be a teenager forever. Who knows, maybe your love for each other will survive and re-emerge later, when none of these things are an issue.

It has happened before and it will again, if not for you then for someone else.

the legal age for her to date someone over 18, is 16, but everyone dates people older than them mostly anyway. im not encouraging it, but if the parents are ok with it, then go ahead if you like her that much?

Dr Vendetta agony auntyou're just Begging to be branded a pedophile arn't yah?!

well congratulations. you're a well on your way. ain't 14 a little old for you?

Can you not find anyone who has been through pubirty?

you're between 22-25 and you want to date a 14 year old girl.

Where should i begin? i mean theres so many options, like your friends and family saying "£ christ he's a freeking perv, he's what 23 now? and he's dating a 14 year old pre-pubescent teenager"

moving along..

This isn't 1860 when the age of consent was twelve years old.

But your right, surely a platonic and innocent non-sexual relationship between two people is not breaking the law..

you're over 20 and she isn't even 15 yet.

Its people like you that need to be tagged as a potential risk to children.

And to any mods that read this and decline to publish it, have the guts to tell me why.
