 Sure, I was nervous the first time! However, that was about 48 years ago. My suspicion is that little has changed, and that first-time sex remains somewhat intimidating, as it should, in most cases other than on a honeymoon.

reader, anonymous, writes (9 November 2009): Very very nervous, I found, and I'd say its the same for most people. You don't really know what to expect. Like Violet says, there was a huge element of 'oh my God I can't believe I'm really doing this!' Probably a bit different for straight guys like yourself though, I'd say the 'nerves' are a bit different in flavour.
Gets easier every time, though. You have to start somewhere. It's good that you've got a girlfriend that you've been with for two years, that should make it easier. When you're both ready, of course. No need to rush.

 well sadly my first time wasnt exactly the best. I was 16 and drunk and slept with a guy I didnt love. Yes I was nervous and wish I had saved it for the right guy.
I had an "Omg what am I doing" moment, hah.
However 5 years later I have had a couple of serious relationships and am now with and wonderful guy who makes me feel special every time :D
I do regret it at times but now that I'm 21 I can look back and appreciate what I have now.
