What causes Trictillomania?

Does anyone know what causes Trictillomania. IE: the compulsive urge to pull one's hair out? I am finding it very hard to stop doing it at present and it is becomming quite distressing.

Some people involuntarily bite their nails and then catch themselves, not even knowing that they were doing it.

The only things I know of are psychological issues, such as stress or depression. I don't know whether there is a physical reason for it. I would strongly urge you to do to the doctor. It's something you will almost certainly need therapy to beat.
