reader, anonymous, writes (24 March 2010): Someone who doesn't feel the need to try to do everything, but who would rather share responsibilities, and someone who isn't miserable. Also, a girl who wants to do things together sometimes, even if life gets too busy. That's pretty much it. If you can find a girl who will go through most anything in daily life and still take stress lightly and keep from turning miserable everyday, you've got yourself a winner!

 I'd go with Frank Kermit on this one. Generally i listen to him when I want to know what women want. He does have a good handle on what it takes to keep a marriage together. It is a strange thing that men have a need to be in control, but we want a woman that we respect. The best partner is one who helps you be a better you.
Let me throw in a turn off. Some women have a deep belief that it is a woman's right to change her mind. When that saying was coined it didn't mean to change her personality on the third Tuesday of every month. It also didn't mean to be so indecisive that they have no mind to change. When a man is looking long term he wants someone who he can rely on week in and week out to be constant. We don't like change. Now we realize that there are biological causes. We can make allowances. We won't tolerate being tossed out of the house one week a month. Ya gotta love us even when you fell rotten.
Now to the indecisive bit. A real man needs a real woman. A woman who can decide what color the curtains will be and stick to it. Or what to name the baby, or when to have a baby. Or what car / house to buy. I'm trying not to limit what choices she should make. It's ok to make choices together. It's ok to let him make choices. But when you have an opinion you should be ready to defend it. I see this a lot in older women I work with. They seem to have a fear of being decisive.
