A female Guyana age 30-35, anonymous writes:

While in class my ex boyfriend has been starting conversations with me. He has a new girlfriend and she's be acting weird towards me since they started going out. I really dont care about her but my ex sent me a text the night b 4 saying that it was all his fault and he shoud'nt have broken up with me.I still do have some type of feelings for him. Sometimes i catch him staring at me when i laugh, talking to my friends or when him and his new girl friend are together. But how do i go about getting over him completely w/o having emotions attached to our friendship.

Dos_Vinci agony auntYou can't. Not everyone can pull of the whole "Lets just be friends". In fact I don't think I've ever heard of a single successful attempt. My advice to you is to stop talking to him, have your classes changed and ask your friends not to speak to him about you. I think it's for the best because if he wanted to be with you don't you think he would be? It sounds like he "wants to have his cake and eat it too" by the way he gives you these signals but yet is still going out with the other girl. Be careful, you don't want to get hurt again.
