reader, anonymous, writes (17 January 2010): You can't make anyone do anything they don't want to do. Your boyfriend sounds immature and not ready for the responsibilities of fatherhood, and I don't really understand why you would have a second child with a guy you are not married to...so what legal recourse do you have if you split up? I hope you can file for child support. All you can do is try to communicate to him what your expectations are for this relationship and what you expect him to do for you and the kids...tell him how you feel about his going out all of the time and ask for what you want. If he doesn't care at all about your needs, then maybe it's time to rethink this arrangement.
