is this guy younger or older? i have the same problem and sometimes guys become confused about feelings. usually theres something in the way, whether its an age gap or theres someone else pursuing them. he probably likes you if you talked alot but maybe he needs time to establish how he feels about you.
hang in there. give it time. and if after a while you need to see him explain how you feel when your around him and ask if you have done something wrong. at least with the straight truth you'll get a straight answer. don't play games.
i know its difficult and upsetting at times but try not to let it get you down, sometimes you just have to accept things for what they are. but dont give up if till you have your answer. i hope everything goes well and wish you all the luck i can give and hope this was of some help for you.
