I want you to know that I understand that you are a human being that has a problem. I think that it is cruel if someone makes fun of you. I also think that you are worthy of love. You may have a long road ahead of you. Remember true strength comes from within.

Dear, admitting that you have a problem is the first step towards solving it. Be honest with yourself. It's not easy to face the truth but It's not as hard as avoiding it either. Are you really working out like you say? If you are and you are eating really poorly you are just causing yourself a lot of pain. There is hope for you as long as you don't start making excuses. Once you start making excuses you lose your motivation.

Honeypie agony auntAnother thing that is worth mentioning is that when you eat few calories then you need after a while your metabolism will slow down and slow down, meaning that you can eat very little almost be at starving point and STILL not loose weight.

You need to have a chat with your doctor. Nothing wrong in admitting you aren't happy with your weight and want to do something positive with it. Make sure you write down what you have been eating for a couple of weeks and show your doctor, so he/she has an idea, then hopefully he can help you get on track.

kaylagal agony auntGo and see a nutrionist. You might be eating empty calories. A nutrionist will guide you in the right direction. And remember weight loss takes time.

good luck

A reader, anonymous, writes (28 June 2009):

People have given you a lot of good advice here.

I agree that it is worth seeing your doctor. But if everything turns out to be fine, and it is not medically related, then it could be that this is simply the size and shape you are meant to be. Everybody has a "set" weight and shape that the body will try to maintain. From what you have said, you have a healthy diet and lifestyle, so that is the most improtant thing. You could be perfectly healthy, even if you are bigger than you would like to be. The fact that your hair and nails sound in good condition amplifies that.

I understand you want to lose weight, and maybe your doctor can help you. But whatever you do, don't let this turn into an obsession or anything. Remember that there is more to you than what the scales say, you are not a number, you are a person! So keep it in perspective. Good luck. x

Honeypie is right, go and see your doctor and tell them you're having problems losing weight.

Ask them to recommend a nutritionist. A nutritionist will create a diet specifically designed for you. All the diets you have tried are complete crap because no diet can possibly work universally, there are too many different body types. Only a nutritionist can give you a proper targeted nutritional advice.

I must say though, that it takes a complete lifestyle change to lose weight, diet and exercise are only a small part of that. Things like walking/cycling to work/college instead of driving. Using stairs instead of a lift.Walking on escalator's etc.

A lifestyle change is important, because you need to form habits that mean you're active a lot of the time, these habits become your lfie routine after a while and will no longer require effort they'll come naturally to you.

chelsea shopland :P agony auntTHIS REALLY WORK MATEE OK i tryed it and these steps worked in 4 weeks :):):):):):):):)

good luck with your weight lose kk and have a gr8 life

Write down all the things you eat on a typical day. Carry a small notebook with you and write down every snack, every drink, and the contents of every meal. There are also great websites that you can use to keep track of calories, get recipes, and help achieve your goal. Don't forget to include the pats of butter or the spoonful of sugar in your coffee. It's best to do this for at least a couple weekdays and a weekend; it's even better if you can go a full week.

Do an itemized calorie count. When possible, write down the number of calories in each thing you eat as you eat it. Keep in mind that the recommended serving size is often considerably smaller than the serving you actually eat. Look up the calorie count on the internet for foods that don't have calories listed on the container or for fast food meals. You don't have to be 100% accurate, but you do want a good estimate of the number of calories you're taking in.Go over the list and decide which foods to cut out or reduce. Cutting calories is usually a lot easier than you might think. For example, that daily tall latte in the morning may pack 500 calories.

Seek out alternatives to the unhealthy foods you've identified. You can simply reduce the amount of soda you drink or mayonnaise you put on your sandwiches, or you can substitute healthier choices. Drink water instead of soda, for example, or use mustard instead of mayo.

Choose lean meats. Chicken and fish are both very low in fat (and certain fish like salmon, sardines, and fresh tuna are an excellent source of antioxidants, which are also beneficial to your health), so aim to replace some or all of the beef or pork in your diet with these foods.

Replace high-calorie side dishes with healthier alternatives. Many people get a ton of calories from side dishes such as macaroni and cheese, French fries, or potato salad. You can eat healthier and lose weight by replacing these with fresh vegetables and salads. Pre-made salads are practically effortless, and when accompanied by a reduced-calorie dressing or no dressing at all, they're weight-loss gold.

Start your days off right. A fattening breakfast of bacon and eggs or a pastry can be replaced with yogurt, oatmeal, high-fiber, low-sugar cereals; or fresh fruit for fruit smoothies. However, for those on a low carb diet bacon and eggs are a great combo for breakfast, since neither have carbs. But don't fall into the trap of skipping breakfast. Eating a healthy breakfast increases your rest metabolic rate earlier in the day, and reduces snacking before lunch.

Plan your meals. Look for healthy, delicious meals online or in your cookbooks, and create a menu for the week. Make sure that your meal plan reduces your total calorie intake: you're not going to lose weight if you consume the same amount of calories by eating different foods.

AND Be realistic. Don't expect a miracle. Healthy weight loss can be achieved fairly quickly, but you'll need to be patient OK

Honeypie agony auntHave you gone to see your doctor? It can be something as simple as a hormonal imbalance. That can be corrected. It can be your thyroids as well. Go see him and get it checked out. Both things can seriously lock up your metabolism.

Its really strange you dont seem to be shifting the weight when if what you say you do is true you should be losing weight.Mind you how long have you been dieting? if its only been a few weeks then i guess the weight should be coming off gradually.you arent going to see a huge difference at first and it does get harder to lose weight the more you lose but at first it should be okay.I suggest maybe talking to your doctor about your dieting and see if they can suggest anything different to help get rid of more pounds.
