My girlfriend and I are both virgins and have been dating for almost 9 months now. We really care about each other, and although we haven't exactly discussed sex, we know that we are both ready to take the leap together. I know that girls experience pain the first time. Is there any way I can help alleviate it? I'd appreciate some advice on how to take away as much pain as possible, and how to help her forget about the pain before and after. I love her a lot and want it to be a pleasant experience for her. We both know it won't be perfect movie sex, but the closer, the better!

To be honest the pain isnt really that bad, its not even a big issue, but be gentle with each other and dont be afraid of the thought that your partner may be in pain.

Trust me its not as painful as you think it will be, I'm sure your girlfriend will forget the pain and remember the loving and special sex you have together over anything else.

Wolf Paws agony auntUse a good lubrication (like KY jelly) and just be gentle with her,No hard, over the top thrusting or anything, take it cal mand easy and things should be great. You sound like a loving, mature person and have clearly thought things through well - but don't forget contraception on both sides! good luck

TasteofIndia agony auntWell, good for you waiting 9 months. That shows some maturity, now you should take that maturity all the way. First off, the importance of both of you getting tested is immense.

Yes, yes, you're both virgins. That doesn't mean both of you can't take a trip to Planned Parenthood. If you have had oral sex, you could still have something.

"Herpes, syphilis, gonorrhea, genital warts (HPV), intestinal parasites (amebiasis), and hepatitis A are examples of STDs which can be transmitted during oral sex with an infected partner." - thebody.com

Anyhow, you can also talk to your doctor about different kinds of birth control. Always cover all of your bases, before you take that step.

To lesson the pain (which your doctor can also advise you on), what do I reccommend? Time, consideration and lots and lots of lube.

KY Warming Liquid is my favorite. It warms on contact to the skin... mmm, sexy. Take lots of time to warm each other up. No first time is perfect, but that's half the fun. Don't take yourselves TOO seriously and be aware that neither of you are experts at sex. Have fun. Enjoy!!!
