The thought of her leaving again makes me physically sick.

Question - (22 October 2007) 1 Answers - (Newest, 22 October 2007)
A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I am madly in love with my gf...after five years, am more in love with her than ever. We will marry, but not until we are out of school and have jobs, etc. She spent half of last school year in a program in Europe. She asked for my input and I didn't want to be without her, but I didn't want to stand in her way. So, she went and I have never been more miserable in my life. I felt like my heart had been ripped out. I mean I kept busy with schoolwork and stuff, but I was pretty depressed. Now she is talking about maybe going to Africa or China for half of next year. She is asking again how I feel and I want to tell her that I don't think I can stand that again, but I don't want her to resent me for it. Should I just come out with it and say the thought of her leaving again makes me physically sick?

yeah man, come out with it, just be very aware of her feelings and make sure you are ready to kindly disarm any expected reactions. if you don't say anything, she'll never know anything is wrong. i don't ever bother to read other responses, so if i said the exact same thing as someone else sorry.
