writes:Hola, I was just wondering why people (mostly guys) perceive me as a "cute" person and compare me to a baby or something. Whenever I smile I get these huge cheeks suddenly appearing from nowhere and it really annoys me. I get people poking them all the time and I get the feeling it potrays that I'm pretty much a baby or something haha. They also think I am ditzy and it gets on my nerves because I'm actually an intelligent person. However I can't help but smile a lot and laugh at quite literally everything. Why do people think of me as baby-like? Oh and is there anything I can do to prove that I'm not just "the girl with the chubby cheeks"? as some people call me?  I gotta hand it to Steve again, he hit the nail on the head here.
I was always the one with the "chubby cheeks" growing up. Now, I grew up in an ITalian family, do you know how often my cheeks got pinched and called "bella".
Its a phase of life for some of us, and trust me, you will come out fine on the other end. I am now 34 years old and NO ONE in my family does it to me anymore! Yeah, I kinda miss it somedays.
Smile and say thank you and enjoy the compliments!!!

I'm like that too! My boyfriend says I'm cute because of my smiles and cheeks. Oh and someone called them "plum-y" cheeks once. It doesn't matter! Chubby cheeks are cool (: Don't worry about it ^______^!

Don't worry about it. Being cute with fun and smiley personality is a great quality to have! Ignore them.
I'm called cute most of the time... Just accept it. It's a good thing :)

reader, anonymous, writes (22 April 2009): I remember a time when I felt the same way...I always looked like a little girl! I was 19 and having a baby and the nurses thought I was 13! I had those cheeks to...and dimples...all the guys in our "click" thought I was "the cute little girl who is so nice and sweet." That was the last thing I wanted to be thought of! I wanted to be sexy and hot!" I did everything in my power to change my image! It resolved itself when I was in my late 20's early 30's. I was still getting carded at 36 years old, however, by then it was a compliment!
Give yourself time! You will get there! Don't try to look too sexy...you may come off looking like a child-prostitute! Don't let guys take advantage of your innocent appearance! That could follow you all your life if you fall into that behavior!
Enjoy your youthful looks...someday they will be gone and you will wish you had them back!
