reader, anonymous, writes (23 March 2010): i call guys i think of just as a friend "mate" just to keep the boundaries there. sometimes if i think we're getting a bit too friendly i will do it on purpose, especially on social networking sites. it's all psychological, she wants you to know you are just mates.
