Hi,

So recently I gained a bit of weight and my bra went up a cup size. So now I have small stretch marks at the top of them. Does anyone know of something that works for sure to get rid of them???

I have Ehlers Danlos syndrome, which in my case pretty much means my skin and blood vessels aren't as strong as the average person. So I get black and blue when I bump into something that wouldn't leave a mark on you and I get stretch marks quicker than others. I got them on my lower back and breasts when I was 15 and hated them. I didn't understand because my friend who was heavier than me had none.

When I was 19 I gained some weight and got a couple extra on my hips. I wore bikini boxer bottoms to cover them up and tops that covered most of my breasts because I thought they were disgusting.

Today I don't give a damn. I'm very fit now, and much slimmer than I was then and the stretch marks show I didn't get my body the way it is now for free. I wear whatever I want and I find that because I don't care guys don't seem to take notice of them either. Like Cerberus said, the real disadvantage of stretch marks is the insecurity they cause. Insecurity is unattractive.

One advice I can give you is to keep your skin moisturized at all times. Every part of it, so also spots like the back of your legs and knees, your triceps, etc. Simply moisturize your body allover so your skin stays supple and soft. It won't make the stretch marks go away (nothing will) but it will imrove the condition of the skin and maybe prevent more stretch marks in the future.

I have them all over, my sides, biceps, legs, stomach and back. Nothing removes them but bio oil helps them fade quicker. They do fade after a while and you really have to look closely to see them after that.

This might seem strange but I actually like mine. They remind me of a time when I had gained a hell of a lot of weight and remind me of how far I've come now that I've lost it all.

They're not ugly, no guy I know considers them ugly and I don't pay much attention to what women think about anything related to appearance because honestly most women are crazy when it comes to appearance, even the most minor of blemish on them is like a major deformity to the women I know. I know girls that have stretch marks from pregnancy and they absolutely hate them won't even wear bikinis anymore because of them whereas I find pregnancy stretchmarks a badge of honour. By the way you're not alone about half the girls I've dated have stretch marks and mostly on their boobs. The only downside I found is that it makes them insecure but honestly no one but them gives a damn if they have stretch marks.

Get used to them OP because they don't go away and surgery doesn't work. They're not the same as scars, they're on a different level of skin (the dermis) than scars (the epidermis) and laser surgery is an expensive treatment that does the same thing that leaving them alone does. Laser surgery doesn't do much OP, it fades them but doesn't remove them and they fade naturally over time themselves bio oil helps speed that process a bit.

Don't let them bother you OP, guys don't notice them at all until they're close enough to you that they have other thoughts in their mind. Other women don't care either because they have their own blemishes that they don't like.

person12345 agony auntUnfortunately most people get stretch marks and unfortunately there's really nothing you can do about them. Like the previous poster said, they fade to a very light color usually, so they aren't noticeable. Everyone gets them, and a lot of guys get them on their butts and sometimes thighs too. You can help prevent them by keeping skin moisturized in areas prone to stretch marks and I hear you can rub vitamin e on existing ones, but I'm not sure how well that actually works.

I've tried a billion products to help mine go away, but the best thing that worked was time.

After a year or less of having them, they faded to a color probably 1 shade lighter than my skin color-you can hardly see them.

They are just scars. Scars fade but will always be there. Although they're not as severe as deep scars.

Don't be ashamed (:
