A female New Zealand age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I really like this guy.. hes a few years older than me but we seem to have soo much in common.

The only thing is he has 2 kids and is living with his ex (the mother of his kids). I know he doesnt like her anymore. But Im still jelous of her becasue I knew he once loved her so much that he had kids with her. I will always be scared that he will change his mind and that he will decide he wants to be with her again.

Also I know that I will never come first in his life because he loves his kids too much. And i admitt freely that I demand quite a bit of attention from the guy Im seeing and Im scared he wont be able to give that to me because of his kids.

I would like to hear a single/dating fathers thought on this. Am I being silly?

AuntyEm agony auntYour being a little naive and selfish. His kids must come first as he has a commitment to them, despite not being with their mother. If you can't stand the heat then maybe you shouldn't get involved with men who have children.

Best of luck sorting it out...
