The only thing you can do is start seeing more of your girlfriends mum so she gets to know you and sees that you are not so bad after all.

A reader, schlottjl United States +, writes (17 July 2005):

schlottjl agony auntThere may be no way to because as I see it, you are a danger to her daughter.

You need to realize that there are always ways to be caught when acting immaturly. Do you ever wonder how many other people have witnessed this when you did not know it?

But for your girlfriends mom, you need to humble yourself and go to her and say that you thought about what you have been up to. Tell her that you are embarrassed that you act that way. Also that you are glad she saw you because the possibility of losing her respect was the wake up call you needed. She might have saved your life if you look it this way and change your ways.

In the US, 40,0000 people a year die young in car accidents. Do not allow the stupidity of youth to take over you. I was told that until I turned 30, I had a disease called young person retardation. If I was smart, I would take this into account. I am smart and alive today.

So many others I knew and loved are not. My fiancee, two close friends from high school, and worst of all my best friend/brother. My fiancé and my brother died many years apart. My fiance was a pro stunt driver and my brother raced cars and was apart of an organized 4-wheeling club. Both expert drivers. One died when a drunk driver almost clipped him on the freeway. He spun, then flipped 4 times- he was speeding as usual. My Bro was coming home from work very late and was speeding on a back road that is usually deserted. Unfortunately, a gravel truck decided to drive 10 in a 55mph area and my brother decided to drive at least 90mph. He was killed instantly.

My friends sister drove crazy (45 on a windy road) and killed her boyfriend and two of his friends. Someone as we speak is being air lifted from a back road, behind my house. Sucks living here since people take that road to cut through and every weekend at least so young person dies or nearly does. The worst was a family of 9 + the dog. Only the father was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the van. On the first roll, the van exploded and everyone but the father was burned alive.

Please realize that if you continue the way you are headed, the best you could hope for is death. If you are a betting man though don't rule out amputation, loss of use of your limbs, becoming a vegetable, or killing someone you love and living so that the memory haunts you.

I cannot stand to see the naive any more acting like macho men in their cars. To me and every one else who lost someone in an accident, it is stupidity.

Now go to her mom, and tell her you are not sorry she saw that, that you want to become trust worthy again, and will not drive her around until you are. Open a dialog and they will respect you for it. Do not risk the lives of anyone you or your family love. It is so not worth it!
