The day you stop having mercy on an underage kid because they are morons is the day you don;t deserve to have a vote in society.

Just because they are violent and have parents that don;t know how to control them, does not mean we have the right to throw them into prisons where they will be dead in a week.

I am not a murderer and I will never let anyone, no matter what they do to me or my family, become like that because then it will all have been for nothing.

A male reader, The old Man? United States +, writes (3 February 2009):

The old Man? agony aunt I think they should. The behavior of "minors" in todays society is very "adult" in nature.

The maturity level is much higher than it was when so many of these standards were set. Heck, just look at the questions being asked on here.

In my day, violent crimes were not something that were committed by young kids. We didn't carry knives, guns etc.

Now days??? Wow! I live near a High school, and I am amazed at the things I see. The vandalism has increased tremendously over the past 10 years or so. Overall, I think that youth crime is becoming a very big problem, but society refuses to acknowledge it. They are so hung up in the crap of "sweet innocent children".

These kids are fully aware of what they are doing. They brag about their actions. They go around having no respect for anyone or their property. If they want to run around acting the way they do, they need to take responsibility for their actions! TV glorifies this sort of behavior. All of the "gangsta" crap, they see this stuff, and act accordingly.

Last summer, in the city I live in. There was a 12 year old kid that was throwing large rocks at cars from an overpass. Keep in mind, a one or two pound rock hitting a car doing 65 mph, could go through a windshield and kill someone! Fortunately, that wasn't the case, but he did hit a couple cars and caused a good sized accident. In turn, making a total mess of rush hour traffic. Someone saw him doing it and went to try and stop him. The man who went to get him was stabbed,(the kid had a knife) The man fought back and overpowered the kid despite his injury. The man was raked through the coals for striking a minor, and holding a "child" against his will! The media played up the kid with the knife who was throwing the rocks as this "poor sweet innocent child"! Now what the hell is this???

Personally, if he'd have stabbed me I'd have shot him!

One less for the system.

I'll be honest here, It is this forum here that changed my attitude towards younger people. From what I see in my city, I want NOTHING to do with them! I can't use the words that I use to describe them!

I'll just say that I have read some stuff on here posted by younger people that has given me some faith is the youth of this world!

Some of you really do use your thinker!
