Should I pursue him or let her have him??

A female age 30-35, anonymous writes:

There is this boy, and he lives pretty far away. I reallly realllly like him.. and i know we could never have a relationship now because im a bit young for a long-distance relationship.

Herein lies my problem: he and this girl dated before, [she and him also lived pretty far away from each other] and im not sure why they broke up, but they are still very friendly with each other. I think they may have broken up because of the distance or because her parents didnt approve of her dating. They still remain good friends, maybe even more, which is why im wondering if hes just waiting for her..i dont know anything for sure though. they might just be great friends.

What im wondering if it is that i should pursue or should i leave him alone and let the other girl have him? I dont even know if this girl wants to date him again, but im afraid he still likes her and it would be useless or do you think i should go for it because just because he may still like this girl doesnt mean he wont ever like any other girl?

A male reader, anonymous, writes (23 March 2007):

Hi Babe,

If it was me in your shoe's I'd take the risk. I mean it's no harm...if he says no, it's all over and done with. So you can go looking for someone else and move on in life.

I hope you find a true answer to heart.
