I met this man a week ago. He is definitely a gentleman, the kind of man I'm not used to. I always fell for the bad boys which has always been disasters. I enjoy being with him, but I find myself wishing I was with the last man I was seeing(definitely bad boy!). I can't get him out of my head. Has anyone ever felt like this before? Should I feel sparks at the beginning? Or just give it more time? Has anyone dated someone and as time went on they grew to love them?

You know, you never know if the "good guy" you've met is really reformed "bad boy". You've only known this guy a week... give him a chance. You don't know anything about him. He may seem all gentlemanly, but there could be a "bad boy" lurking under that nice guy without all of the bad boy bullsh*t... and then that would give you the best of both worlds! :-)

I always went for bad boys or the most popular boys and ended up have a child with one. He is not the best dad in the world and we are not together so if you are looking for a future with one I suggest you think about it seriously.

I thought I was in love with one of these types for many years and then I met my husband. I was not in love with him or even attracted to him physically at first but beleive it or not love grew over time. He is a kind, good and gentle enough person for me to have stayed with him and see past all the stereotype things we think we want or like in a person and it was well worth it.

Yes. You can grow to love someone. I still had feelings for my former mentor when I met my husband.

If this guy is being good to you, I see no reason to leave him.

YES SPARKS! Always sparks! If you hook up with someone that you hope you will grow to love...it's not the real thing!

I have always been attracted to Bad Boys (all the way back to grade school!) There's an excitement and passion that sets you on fire! You just have to watch out for the red flags...the warning signs of dysfunction!

Twice in my life, I have tried relationships with the serious, responsible "good-guys." It didn't work for me either time. I try not to get involved with really bad boys like felons...although my ex was a felon...but that's another story...You gotta have passion in your relationship! You can't force it. If it's not there, it's not there! You can't spend your life hoping that one day it will be the fourth of July! It may never happen. Try someone a little of both...A good man with a bad boy attitude! You may enjoy the search!

Good Luck!

Dear Quiverpated,

yes... that happens all the time... love--takes time... the truth is.. Bad Boys give us butterflies and Good Boys give us support. Bad Boys take us to lazer tag while good boys take us to the pumpkin patch. If your lucky you end up with the good boy who knows how to be a bad boy in all the right areas... I had that just that happen to me.. he was 6'4 bald and hairy every where but his head, not at all what I would date. LOUD and just---ohhh lord... He showed up on the first date in T-shirt and construction boots. Im 5'2 raised to be polite and not at all him...lol, now I can't imagine my life without him..

So give it a shot just because he does not make you quiver right now does not mean that he does no know how to make you quiver in all the right places and at the right times. My point is men who are patient and willing to learn us women deserve a shot.

Good luck.

sparks are for suckers. the spark will eventually fade out of any relationship anyway, no matter how in love a couple is.

you need to give this guy a chance, he will probably grow on you because he is everything you should want. girls want bad boys because they think they can fix these bad boys, and that the bad boys are confident and strong, and not sensitive and weak. but the bad boys never really work out, so please give this guy a chance.

i dated a guy and wasn't really that interested in the beginning, he was into me. but now i am in love with him! so it is funny how things turn out, you just need to keep an open mind.
