His best friend has liked me for awhile and I've treated him bad, until recently when I discovered i really like him. We hung out Saturday night and then after he left he texted me right away and was saying we should start talking again. My best friend thinks he likes me and I kinda do too. I'm just afraid of my ex boyfriend messing things up. my ex boyfriend and I only dated for about a month.. so I'm not sure if I should continue to talk to his best friend and see if something happens or just leave it alone. They are really, really good friends and I'm just afraid to get my feelings hurt.. what should I do?

 this seems a bit dodgey to me hun i mean you lost your virginity to his best friend and he's been bad mouthing you he may have told his best friend that you're easy and will sleep with anyone.
if you think he is genuine then go for it but do be careful as your ex may stir things up a bit and could be a plan between him and his best friend.
i mean you say they're really really good friends why would your ex boyfriend be ok with you and him getting together?
seems a bit dodgey so be careful!
